About King Crab Legs Company

Learn about who we are and what we do.

Who We Are

King Crab Legs Co. was founded by Julian Klenda, the owner of Maine Lobster Now. Julian was raised in the Maine seafood industry and has been packing and selling seafood for nearly 30 years. After decades of sustainably sourcing and selling the best Maine lobster, crabs, shellfish and Atlantic seafood that the Northeast has to offer, our nationwide customer base has been constantly asking for more Alaskan seafood options to bring to the table. King Crab Legs Co. was created to meet this demand and give customers exactly what they want, a unique experience around king crab.

Julian and our team are utilizing our strong relationships to navigate the recent Alaskan shut down. We are leveraging our global network once we purchase our Alaskan quoata to continue to provide all sizes and variety of king crab to you. Not only are we providing the same level of quality and service as Maine Lobster Now, we want to take it to the next level. By purchasing from King Crab Legs Co., our loyal customers are able to contribute to fishing sustainability and clean oceans through The Ocean Cleanup North Pacific Foundation. This group primarily cleans up discarded fishing gear off the coast of Alaska and Norway, key areas where we source our king crab.

To continue our efforts to deliver the best quality king crab, Alaska is our first option to source items, but once the Alaskan quota is purchased there will be nothing left in the domestic market, then we will import to meet our customer needs. We have already started importing larger sizes which is sold out in Alaska. We know Alaska has been the primary source for king crab in years past, let us be your new conneciton into a global market.

Our Mission

We are a mission based company who believes in keeping our oceans clean. We are proud to endorse The Ocean Cleanup North Pacific Foundation, a non-profit group as our exclusive donor recipient. We donate 1% of all sales for a cleaner ocean. They specialize in industrial waste removal from the Pacific Norwest. This waste directly impacts our Alaskan seafood harvest areas and this is the crew to cleanup. We know trash in the ocean is not only disgusting, but is harmful to humans and sea creatures alike. We value our ocean, our food sources, and our fishermen's long term livelihood. Watch the video below to learn more about the ocean cleanup process, and remember, every purchase you make with King Crab Legs Company has a direct positive impact on a cleaner ocean.

How do you know the promised donatoon is received by the non-profit? We use a third-party company, ShoppingGives, and they ensure that 100% of funds are sent to The Ocean Cleanup North Pacific Foundation. Also you’ll get a confirmation email after checkout verifying the transaction.

Watch this state of the art ocean cleanup system pull thousands of pounds of trash from the Pacific Ocean.

Intercepting Trash In Rivers, & Cleaning In The Ocean

The Ocean Cleanup has developed the first scalable solution to efficiently intercept plastic in rivers before it reaches the oceans. By tackling 1000 rivers around the world, we aim to halt 80% of riverine plastic from entering the oceans in five years from rollout.

The Ocean Cleanup is also developing cleanup systems that can clean up the floating plastics caught swirling in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. System 002, our latest system iteration, reached proof of technology on October 20th, 2021, meaning we can now start the cleanup.
